The second Women’s Sprint 20 race took place on the 11th of October at the ever-picturesque Dunkeswell Raceway, perched high atop the Blackdown Hills. A typical autumn day brought a mix of cool air, soft light, and the kind of atmosphere that makes this circuit so special — and, as if on cue, the unmistakable sound of a Spitfire echoed overhead during the race, adding a touch of magic to the afternoon.
The event format consisted of a 15-minute practice and qualifying session, followed by a 20-lap race that showcased some truly excellent racing from all competitors. Though the grid was slightly smaller this time, the standard of driving was anything but — every lap packed with determination, skill, and tight battles through the field.
From the off, the pace was fierce. The leading trio managed to break away early on, creating a thrilling contest at the front. A yellow flag period briefly bunched the pack back together, setting the stage for a nail-biting restart — but once racing resumed, the front-runners quickly re-established their advantage.
After 20 fast and furious laps, the top three stood as follows:
🥇 Neve Allen (Kart 11)
🥈 Megan Earing (Kart 6)
🥉 Kart 15
A well-deserved podium for all, and a great reward for the effort each driver put in throughout the afternoon.
Despite the slightly reduced entry list, the quality of racing was as strong as ever, proving once again that the Women’s Sprint series at Dunkeswell continues to grow in both excitement and talent.
Congratulations to everyone who raced and to the team who made the event happen — it was another fantastic day to be trackside with the camera, capturing the action and atmosphere that make these meetings so special.
Hope to see you all back on track next month!
