Round 2 of the 2025 Autumn Championship brought the MSUK Super K-X back to Dunkeswell Raceway on Sunday 27 August – and while the grids were a little smaller than usual across all classes, the racing certainly didn’t disappoint. It was a day of changing conditions, with everything from torrential downpours to gloomy grey skies and the occasional break of brightness. Despite the moody weather, the track action remained electric from the first green light to the final chequered flag. This round also marked the first race event outing for my new Nikon Z9 camera body, following its debut during Saturday practice. From soaking wet sessions to drier runs with greasy patches and low light, the Z9 was put through its paces – and handled it all without missing a beat. Safe to say, it’s already proving to be a solid investment for motorsport photography. A huge congratulations goes out to all the drivers who braved the conditions and delivered such spirited performances – and equal praise to the organisers who pressed on with the race weekend despite the lower than normal entries. It turned out to be a brilliant day for all involved.
