Ladies Sprint Race Report – Dunkeswell Raceway (15 November) | Karting Photography & ResultsAfter a weekend of soaking-wet racing and an entire week of unbroken rain across the Blackdown Hills, the Ladies Sprint 20 at Dunkeswell Raceway on 15 November felt like a welcome change. Despite heavy clouds hanging low over the ridgeline and the ever-present threat of more showers, the weather held off — giving drivers the rare luxury of a dry track at Dunkeswell in November.Practice & Qualifying – Finding Pace on the Short LayoutA strong mix of experienced racers and newcomers took to the shorter circuit layout for practice. It didn’t take long for the field to settle in. Confidence grew with every lap, lines tightened, and lap times fell steadily as the drivers pushed for strong qualifying positions ahead of the Sprint race. With qualifying completed and a short reset break, attention shifted to the main event. Engines fired back into life, and the grid assembled with a sense of anticipation as they headed out for the formation lap.Main Race – Hannah Lowe Takes CommandThe race itself was an impressive display of control, consistency, and pace. Hannah Lowe dominated from lights to flag, dictating the tempo from the very first lap. Once she broke into clear air, she never looked back.Aiyana’s speed was one of the standout stories of the day, matching Hannah’s best lap of the event and showing she had the pace to challenge. Unfortunately, a early kart issue limited her progress — but not before she proved she’s one to watch.Midfield Battles – Overtakes, Spins, and a Few Heart-Stopping MomentsThe midfield produced its own drama, with tight racing and bold overtakes throughout. A couple of optimistic moves resulted in spins, and misjudged corner entries led to light but nerve-wracking kiss against the barriers. Thankfully, there were no injuries — just a few bruised egos and plenty of determined recovery drives. The racing was clean, competitive, and full of the close-quarters action that makes these Ladies Sprint events such a highlight of the Dunkeswell calendar. From Behind the Lens – A Rewarding Return to Dry WeatherFor me, it was a joy to photograph another brilliant day of racing. After the misery of last week’s weather, being able to shoot on a dry track felt like a reward in itself. Dunkeswell’s short layout, combined with the low November light, made for some fantastic photographic opportunities.Podium Results – Ladies Sprint, Dunkeswell Raceway1st – Hannah Lowe2nd – Liberty Ruddick3rd – Isabel HamiltonFull Gallery – Karting Images from Dunkeswell RacewayAll photos from the event are now available to view here:[Ladies Sprint 20 images]
