Dunkeswell Raceway hosted the opening round of the 2026 Ladies Championship with a damp and misty midday qualifying session. The 10-minute qualifier saw drivers tackling a tricky circuit as they battled for the all-important grid positions for the race that followed.
Conditions throughout the session were far from ideal. Grey skies, misty light, and occasional light drizzle made both driving and photography challenging. The damp track required drivers to carefully manage grip levels while still pushing for competitive lap times.
From a photography perspective the flat light made capturing contrast difficult, but by exploring several locations around the circuit and moving into the infield it was possible to make the most of the available light and capture some different angles of the action.
When the race got underway it produced an exciting start to the season. At the front of the field, Megan Earing delivered a dominant drive, controlling the race and securing a well-earned victory. Close racing throughout the field saw positions change regularly as the laps were reeled off, with drivers pushing hard in the slippery conditions.
After a competitive race the podium positions were decided as follows:
Race Results
1st – Megan Earing
2nd – Aiyana Lane
3rd – Hannah Lowe
A great opening round for the Ladies Championship and an encouraging start to what promises to be an exciting 2026 season at Dunkeswell Raceway.
