What a day at Dunkeswell Raceway! The June 14th test day served up a real mix of conditions – overcast skies, bursts of sunshine, and the lingering effects of overnight rain. The racing line was slow to come in, and just as the surface began to rubber in, a passing shower transformed the grip levels all over again!

The trickle of rain early on wasn’t quite enough to wet the circuit, but that changed later in the day. A well-timed shower coated the track and made for some exciting moments – sideways action, especially from those who had committed to dry tyres. It definitely caught a few drivers out, but from a photographer’s point of view… it was great!

I was putting a new lens through its paces and I’ve got to say, I’m absolutely thrilled with the results. Fast, crisp, and perfect for capturing the intensity and drama of a circuit in transition. As always, I walked away with a memory card full of action-packed shots – and yes, many hours of editing ahead!
