Another autumnal morning up on the Blackdowns for the final championship round of the year. The paddock was alive early on as karters carefully assessed the track, debating which tyres would best suit the conditions. Overnight rain had left the circuit damp for the warm-up sessions, and although the forecast hinted at more rain later in the day, the wind soon began to dry off the surface.As on Saturday, I was well wrapped up to keep out the cold and gusty winds sweeping across the circuit. Soon, the familiar buzz of engines signalled the start of the morning action. Practice quickly evolved into timed qualifying, with a crisp wind cutting across the track. The sun made a brief appearance, casting a golden light over the autumnal colours surrounding the circuit — a perfect backdrop for some dramatic early shots.The drivers pushed hard through every session, hunting for those vital pole positions ahead of the finals. The changeable morning conditions made for some great photography opportunities — bright moments of sunlight one minute, grey clouds rolling in the next.As forecast, the rain eventually returned. Dark clouds loomed over the circuit, and at first, a light drizzle made the surface slippery and unpredictable. By the time the finals arrived, the heavens had truly opened — every race was run in full wet conditions! Despite the challenge, it made for some fantastic racing and even better photo moments.
